King Bowser Koopa is the main antagonist of the Mario series and leader of the Koopa clan. The first appearance of Bowser in major videogames was in Super Mario Bros when Bowser and his Koopa Troopas took over the Mushroom Kingdom, turned the Mushroom Kingdoms defenders into blocks and other stationery objects and kidnapped Princess Toadstool and seven Mushroom retainers.
